Arsenal fans are convinced that Brazilian centre-back Gabriel has had a hair transplant after images emerged of his hairline.

An Arsenal fan took to Twitter to post side by side images of Gabriel with a receding hairline and then a recent snap of the star. The images were captioned with: "Biggest comeback since the Cavs in the 2016 NBA finals."

The first picture shared showed Gabriel with a receding hairline during the start of the season playing for the Gunners. However, a recent snap of the Brazilian in training appears to show his hairline intact after making a 'miraculous' recovery according to Gunners fans.

One fan tweeted: "Better save the season like he saved his hairline!"

"Playing for Arsenal ruins hairlines I’m convinced," another joked. While a third added: "Why is every player who starts to play for Arsenal always actually starts balding like is it that stressful being associated with us? I mean Auba, Holding, Laca, Gabriel.."

A fourth joked: "He’s gonna lose all his heading ability. Very strong correlation between players who score headers and players who have receding hairlines!"

Gabriel isn't the only Arsenal defender to have a hairline comeback this season. Rob Holding shocked Arsenal fans when he was seen sporting a full head of hair and luscious locks at the start of the season.

Despite their questionable hairlines, both men played a big part in Arsenal's important 4-2 win over Chelsea on Wednesday night. The Gunners claimed the spoils thanks to goals from Emile Smith Rowe, Bukayo Saka and a brace from Eddie Nketiah.

Victory put the Gunners back on course for the top four after three straight defeats to Southampton, Brighton and Crystal Palace. Mikel Artet's side are now level on points with rivals Tottenham with six games of the season remaining.

The next door neighbours will meet in a crunch clash on May 12, which could decide the destination of Champions League football in north London next season.
