Arsenal could be forced to cash in on loanee who’s outscoring Messi and Mbappe

Arsenal could be set to cash in on Folarin Balogun over the summer – who has scored more goals than Kylian Mbappe and Lionel Messi in Ligue 1.

Balogun has found the net 14 times this season, more than anyone else in the French top flight. And Stade Reims boss Will Still is so impressed with the Englishman, he wants to sign him permanently over the summer.

The youngster only has 18 months left on his deal at the Emirates Stadium, and he could find game time tough to earn with Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah. The Sun say Arsenal remain undecided what to do, and aren't yet sure whether he fits in Mikel Arteta's long-term plans.

Balogun recently said: "Arsenal is my family. But I’ve spent my whole career in England and I knew it was going to be a different test when I came to Reims.

"I didn’t know the language and I’m still trying to learn, but it was important for me to step out of my comfort zone and challenge myself.

"That’s the reason I’m here and hopefully it’s a decision that will pay off for me. I’ve already reached my target for the start of the season and now I want to do even better and I’m hoping to score 20 goals."

Reims are going through something of a purple patch under Still, who only took the top job late last year despite not holding his UEFA Pro License.

However, despite having to pay £22,000 each game as a result, Reims are picking up points – and Still even joked he learned his management skills through Football Manager.
