Liverpool fans are likely to still be celebrating their historic demolition of Manchester United today after crushing their Premier League rivals 7-0 at Anfield on Sunday, inflicting their largest-ever defeat on the Red Devils. Erik ten Hag slammed his ‘unprofessional’ players for a woeful second-half display as the devastating Reds frontline put them to the sword, with Cody Gakpo, Mohamed Salah and Darwin Nunez all bagging braces for Jurgen Klopp’s men.

The inquest has already begun at Old Trafford with United players criticised for their performances, in particular Bruno Fernandes, after United were brought back to reality with a harsh lesson.

It was a fine weekend for Arsenal after their comeback against Bournemouth kept them five points clear of Manchester City at the top, and there are signs that the Gunners could go on to end 19 years of waiting for their next league title.

Elsewhere in London, Chelsea are set to begin a summer clear-out after Todd Boehly issued an ultimatum to the players and Tottem head coach Antonio Conte faces an uncertain future at the club after their latest defeat.

  • Chelsea chief Boehly plans exits

Chelsea owner Todd Boehly has reportedly warned squad members that they risk being sold if they do not commit to at least three years at Stamford Bridge, according to a report from the Telegraph.

The American is set to demand players with less than three years on their contract to commit to extensions and, if they do not comply, they will be offloaded.

Chelsea know that some summer departures are inevitable, with Graham Potter currently trying to fit 33 stars into a 20-man matchday squad. But Boehly’s ultimatum could force some key squad members to consider their long-term future and whether it lies at Stamford Bridge or elsewhere.

    Arsenal’s ‘incredible’ duo hailed

Bournemouth coach Gary O’Neil hailed Arsenal’s “fantastic” players after watching his side fall to a late defeat against the Premier League leaders.

The Cherries had led by two goals after a strong start at the Emirates, before Thomas Partey, Ben White and Reiss Nelson completed a remarkable comeback.

And O’Neil paid tribute to Nelson and Aaron Ramsdale, hailing their “incredible” contribution.

“Obviously, it’s a tough place to come. They have fantastic players. They are very well coached, cause you loads of problems. And we came up short of taking a point off the league leaders.

“(It was a) real big chance,” O’Neil adds. “Aaron Ramsdale makes an incredible save on the counter-attack. The lads put in an awful lot of work, and you suffer to an incredible strike from the edge of the box with maybe two or three kicks of the game left.”

Liverpool vs Man Utd reaction – Ferguson seen shaking head

Sir Alex Ferguson was seen shaking his head as his former club Manchester United succumbed to a 7-0 annihilation at Anfield on Sunday.

Cody Gakpo, Darwin Nunez and Mohamed Salah scored two goals apiece as Liverpool ran riot and recorded their biggest ever win over their rivals for over 125 years.

And it was all too much for the legendary Scot, 81, who was sat in the director’s box and clearly unhappy with the display put on by United’s underachieving stars.
