The Las Vegas Sphere has been taken over by F1’s Las Vegas Grand Prix and will be used to show driver introductions, live pole positions and fans around the track during the events taking place throughout the week.

‘Sphere’s Exosphere doesn’t just complement the Las Vegas Strip Circuit, it elevates it to new heights, turning every lap into a mesmerizing experience for fans in attendance and watching on TV globally,’ said Las Vegas Grand Prix Chief Commercial Officer Emily Prazer.

‘Picture real-time pole positions, thrilling podium celebrations, and a dynamic showcase of all 20 drivers and their iconic cars displayed larger-than-life. We are excited to have Sphere at the heart of race weekend.’

The race will be the first live event that will feature the Sphere as part of the official broadcast, although it has been used in conjunction with events like the NBA Summer League and has also been seen showing starting lineups ahead of New York Knicks games on occasion.

‘We are looking forward to partnering with the FORMULA 1 HEINEKEN SILVER LAS VEGAS GRAND PRIX in the inaugural year both for Sphere and the Grand Prix in Las Vegas,’ said Joel Fisher, Executive Vice PresidentMarquee Events and Operations for MSG Entertainment, who oversees marquee events for Sphere.

‘This is one of the world’s premier sporting events, and we are ready to showcase Sphere to our global audience via F1® – both in person in Las Vegas and watching around the world – demonstrating the unparalleled technological and creative capabilities of the Exosphere.’

Fisher also noted that The Sphere team worked with F1 on what colors can’t be displayed during the race to avoid distractions.

The Sphere, at 366-feet tall and 516-feet wide, opened in September and is billed as the world´s largest spherical structure. It has a massively bright exterior LED screen that will be on all week, including during the race itself.

Aston Martin also partnered with The Sphere for the biggest marketing push in team history as the luxury brand will display its cars on the landmark.

The Sphere itself is closed to the public all weekend and will be used for F1 hospitality.

‘This is one of the world´s premier sporting events, and we are ready to showcase Sphere to our global audience via F1 – both in person in Las Vegas and watching around the world,’ Fisher said.
