Khamzat Chimaev carries rival over to Dana White before bending arm to win fight
New UFC star Khamzat Chimaev announced himself in spectacular fashion at UFC 267 – by carrying his opponent to Dana White before securing the win via submission.
The 27-year-old has impressed since making his debut in July 2020 and the Swede has already compiled a flawless 10-0 record.
He has bit hit just once during his UFC career, leaving fans and critics alike suggesting the welterweight is on the path to become world champion.
Competing against Li Jingliang at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi, Chimaev made light work of the 11th-best ranked welterweight and put on a show for all those in attendance – including UFC president White.
The Chinese star was supposed to provide a real test for Chimaev, but it wasn’t to be. Chimaev immediately went for the takedown as soon as the bout began and was seen talking to White, who was sitting ringside, while fighting.
He continued to speak to the 52-year-old as he held Jingliang in mid-air before finishing the win by forcing his opponent to tap out in scenes that resembled UFC legend Khabib Nurmagomedov’s win over Michael Johnson at UFC 205.
“I said to Dana, ‘I am the king here. I am here for a long time and I am going to kill everybody’. He went to sleep bro!” Chimaev told former champion Daniel Cormier in his post-fight interview.
“I couldn't take him down that early and I wanted to talk to Dana White. I come here for everybody, I am the champ, I am the king here!”
The win will undoubtedly help fuel the hype train surrounding Chimaev, who is quickly becoming one of the hottest prospects in the sport, and he was even heard shouting former heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar’s name as he patrolled around the octagon.

With fans hoping to see the Swede earn a title shot in the near-future, White revealed what Chimaev was shouting as he dismantled Jingliang.
“He was yelling crazy sh*t at me the whole fight,” White told reporters at the post-fight press conference. “I don’t know why. But he was basically just saying ‘I’m going to fight everybody’ and ‘I’m going to fight Brock Lesnar, I don’t care who it is.’
“Like I said before, he’s special man.”
