Tommy Fury’s US fight purse was half what he earns from Molly-Mae’s Instagram

Tommy Fury’s fight purse from his fight in American is half of what he earns from Instagram posts with girlfriends Molly-Mae Hague.

The 22-year-old younger brother of heavyweight champion Tyson saw off Anthony Taylor in his first bout outside the UK.

He got the opportunity on the undercard of rival Jake Paul, who squared up to the light-heavyweight in the belly of the stadium in Ohio.

While they have an intense rivalry on screen, it was reported that the YouTuber was paying the prize money for fighters on the card himself.

But figures from released from the Ohio State Athletic Commission [via The Sun] show that Fury has not benefitted much financially that he does day-to-day.

TNT’s purse for the youngster gave him £10,900 for winning the fight – the lowest of any fighter on the card.

And it almost a third of what opponent Taylor received, with the former UFC star taking home £29,060

But it is also half the amount the 22-year-old receives on sponsored Instagram posts with girlfriend Molly-Mae, who he met on hit ITV series Love Island in 2019.

According to ManySpins.com [via The Sun], the couple – who have a combined 9.6m Instagram followers – receive £20,000 from companies for posts.

It is not yet known if Fury’s share will be increased with a slice of the pay-per-view money generated.

And it is a long way off rival Paul’s share of the prize money, taking £1,453,610 from his fourth professional bout as Woodley was paid the same.

While the 24-year-old later bragged about being “10 per-cent closer to becoming a billionaire”, Fury took the chance to call out the YouTuber.

He said after the fight: "Jake Paul should have an easy night on that night, so he's got no excuse for not taking the fight.

"Let's get it on Jake Paul. I've done my bit, you do your bit. It should be easy enough for him, like I said.

"I went four rounds with his sparring partner. Jump in the ring it's should be no test at all."
