Chris Eubank breaks down in tears on TV over death of son Sebastian aged just 29

Chris Eubank broke down in tears on TV over the tragic death of his son Sebastian in 2021.

Sebastian was just 29 when he died of a heart attack whilst swimming in the sea in Dubai, just days before his 30th birthday. And boxing icon Eubank relived the harrowing event when he appeared on Channel 4 show, Scared Of The Dark, on Sunday.

Actor Chris McCausland triggered Eubank's emotions when he asked the ex-heavyweight champion if he lost his son recently. Prompting Eubank to respond "it will always be recent."

While listing the things which made Sebastian special, Eubank sobbed in heart-wrenching scenes: "It’s always going to be recent.

“[Sebastian] was everything. He was me. Poet, philosopher, lover, protector, a man of love. He was me. Things he did, he was magnificent. My son was, is, an inspiration and will always be an inspiration.

“Your son…. they never leave you, ever. They are always with you. Always. My son Sebastian is much more than I could ever explain to you.

“The tragedy of losing a son who’s 29, imagine crying that hard, and then months later being grateful that you cried that hard for your son. It wasn’t one tear, it was an ocean."

Eubank's time on the show has been controversial thus far, and he was also embroiled in a spat with football icon Paul Gascoigne over the weekend. Gascoine's lewd recollection of the time he met Margaret Thatcher rubbed Eubank the wrong way, leading to a bitter back and forth between the pair, with the sport heroes throwing shots at each other.

Eubank slammed Gascoigne's comments, saying: "I don’t know Gazza, and I don’t want to know Gazza because that’s all muck. He’s brazen, he’ll drink you under the table. He’s a legend. That is not legendary." And those inflammatory remarks led Gazza to label the boxing icon "two-faced."
