Anthony Joshua mocks Tyson Fury after £40m offer in response to ‘fraud’ claims

Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury continued their heated back-and-forth on social media last night as their planned summer fight appears to be slipping away.

The pair had agreed to a deal for a fight in Saudi Arabia in August – but arbitration brought by Deontay Wilder has seemingly put and end to those plans, much to Joshua's frustration.

Wilder, it has been ruled, is owed a third fight with Fury as part of their contract for their 2020 rematch, which he lost by a seventh round TKO.

Normally quiet on social media; Joshua exploded into life yesterday after losing out on a payday believed to be in excess of £53million, and a chance to unify the heavyweight division and achieve a lifelong ambition.

Joshua and Fury took to social media to air their grievances with one another last night, with the unbeaten WBC champion telling his rival that he would fight him bare knuckle for £20m of his own money if Joshua would agree to the same.

After a laughing response Fury assured Joshua that he would beat the American before returning to their feud, and added that the offer to fight bare knuckle was still on the table.

But Joshua hit back, sharing footage of a brawl involving Billy Joe Saunders' father and security after his fight with Canelo Alvarez, which Fury appears to stay out of judging by the video.

He joked: "You’re not about that bare knuckle life. A barrier held you back, not even a bouncer!"

Fury has yet to reply after Joshua's taunt garnered over half a million views in just a few hours.

The argument started when the current WBO, WBA, IBO and IBF champ took to twitter to say: " Tyson Fury, the world now sees you for the fraud you are. You've let boxing down!

"You lied to the fans and led them on. Used my name for clout not a fight. Bring me any championship fighter who can handle their business correctly."

Fury responded shortly afterwards: " Anthony Joshua you're more full of s*** that Eddie [Hearn, Joshua's promoter], spouting absolute s****.

"Your full team knew there was an Arbitration going on, it was out of my hands! But I tell you what if I'm a fraud let's fight this weekend bare knuckles till 1 man quits? Let's put up 20 mill each!!!"

And Joshua later replied: "If there was an arbitration going on, why announce to the world we are fighting! The fight was signed! UNDISPUTED.

"Bare knuckle? You’re a good kid, don’t play with me Luke! I’ll slap your bald head & you’ll do nothing! Waste man."

It appears that the pair will now meet at earliest in November, with Joshua set to face mandatory challenger Oleksandr Usyk at the end of August while Fury fights Wilder in Vegas on July 24.
