UFC legend will train Elon Musk for Mark Zuckerberg cage match

Twitter boss Elon Musk will be trained by UFC legend Georges St-Pierre ahead of his cage match with Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg.

After the two billionaires’ clashed on social media last week, the Twitter-Facebook duo will be taking the squabble to the ring, reports The Daily Express US.

This follows the release of a report Zuckerberg intends on launching his own version of Musk’s $44billion social media platform, which got a rattled Musk saying: “I’m up for a cage match if he is lol.”

Taking a page out of Khabib Nurmagomedov’s book, Zuckerberg simply replied: “Send me location.”

With Zuckerberg’s recent involvement in a jiu-jitsu tournament and Musk’s martial arts experience, fans are weighing up each billionaire’s odds as the challenge has become a reality.

But Musk’s odds just gained some momentum after he announced UFC star St-Pierre will be his trainer.

On Monday evening, the 42-year-old former fighter wrote on social media: “I’m a huge fan of yours and it would be an absolute honor to help you and be your training partner for the challenge against Zuckerberg.”

With his 26-2-0 record, St-Pierre is one of best UFC fighters of all time and has one of the greatest fighters in MMA history.

The French-Canadian superstar hung up his belt in 2017 after crushing UFC Middleweight Champion Michael Bisping, and has since been honoured with a spot in the UFC Hall of Fame in 2020.

In his retirement, he has stayed in shape, regularly posting workout and training videos, making it a no-brainer for Musk to jump on the offer, as he wrote: “Ok, let’s do it” – along with fire emojis.

Confirming this fight is not just a joke taken too far, UFC president Dana White said on an appearance on ‘TMZ Live’ that he had “talked with Mark and Elon last night, both guys are absolutely dead serious about this.”

He suggested the fight would go ahead in a UFC Octagon in Las Vegas, and added: “This would be the biggest fight ever in the history of the world. Bigger than anything that’s ever been done. It would break all pay-per-view records.

“These guys would raise hundreds of millions of dollars for charity. You don’t have to be a fighting fan to be interested in this fight. Everybody would want to see it.”
