Pimblett calls out wrestling champion for brandming him ‘pound shop’ McGregor

Paddy Pimblett has called out wrestling champion Maxwell Jacob Friedman – better known as MJF – after the wrestler labelled the UFC man a 'pound shop' Conor McGregor. Pimblett has announced himself as one of MMA's rising stars, impressing in his recent UFC bouts.

After protecting his unbeaten record against Jordan Leavitt thanks to a second-round victory in London, the Scouse star is back in action against Jared Gordon next month. His bout in December though may have to take a back seat, after his latest call out.

Pimblett is no stranger to sharing his opinions online, and has already received a ban on Twitter for his choice of words on the social media site.

This has not stopped the Liverpudlian though, after he went after MJF on Instagram. The pair shared a heated exchange online, both calling each other out for a potential bout. The feud started after the AEW champion claimed professional wrestling was a much more dangerous sport than UFC.

Hitting out at MJF, Pimblett then wrote: "If u wanna have a real fight let’s sort it with the UFC if not pipe down! Oh tell ur boss to sign me up when yous come to Fulham’s ground I be ready son."

The wrestler was quick to respond claiming that the pair should meet in his preferred discipline on the AEW circuit. He wrote: "Hey bud. AEW has a show coming up in your neck of the woods. If you’re man enough I’ll gladly show you how real I am.”

Hitting back, Pimblett replied: "I’ve just said that u spaceman don’t act as if ur calling for it. I’ve just told u straight when yous come Fulham’s ground (craven cottage) get ur boss Tony Khan to message my boss Dana White and see what we can sort."

MJF clearly saved his biggest insult for last of all in the slagging match, with the AEW star labelling his new-found rival as nothing more than a budget McGregor. "Unlike you I’m 100% natural and I’m also 100% original. Unlike you," he replied.

"Your dollar store Conor McGregor talking, Will from strangers things (sic) looking a** wouldn’t last two seconds in my world #Betterthanyou See you in London.” MJF then shared the conversation on Twitter, simply adding the caption: "See you around 'Baddy'."
