Paddy Pimblett was bewildered by reactions to his UFC 282 win – asking "why does everyone hate me?"
Pimblett was perplexed by claims his points victory over Jared Gordon was a 'robbery' in Las Vegas. The Liverpudlian fighter sealed his unanimous decision in a bout commentator Joe Rogan described as 'very very close'.
And MMA star Dillon Danis went one further by brutally tweeting: "Told everyone from the beginning Paddy Pimblett is pure s*** that was a robbery."
Another UFC fan claimed Pimblett's triumph was 'the definition of highway robbery.' But while the 27-year-old did not secure the statement victory he was looking for, he was adamant that he was a convincing and deserved winner on the co-main event.

And the hugely popular 20-3 fighter insisted that gusty opponent Gordon only landed one 'significant strike'.
"I don't think it was close," Pimblett told TSN Sports. "I don't understand how anyone thinks it was close. I easily won the first two rounds and then the third round I coasted because my ankle was very sore.
"I think I'm going to need something doing to this ankle because it doesn't feel right. As soon as we're in the third round he pushed me against the cage I had no urgency to get off it.
"He wasn't landing any damage. I was the one landing the strikes. I don't think he got me down, I ended up taking him down. I think he landed one significant strike in the third round so I don't understand.

An exasperated Pimblett could not hide his frustration with the verdict of some fight fans – questioning why people have taken a dislike towards him.
"People just don't like me lad, do you know what I mean?" he added. "People just want to score a fight against me. I'm a nice guy – why does everyone hate me?
"I'm pretty p***ed off to be honest. Joe Rogan came in and said 'that was a close fight? I was like 'what are you on about lad?'"
"It wasn't a split decision, it was a unanimous decision, so I'm pretty p***ed off that people thought I lost, it's annoying me. It's annoying me a lot."
