MMA fighter banned from competing after Adolf Hitler tattoo spotted on arm

An MMA fighter was pulled from a fight after it was discovered he had multiple neo-Nazi tattoos.

Radek Rousal was set to make his debut in the sport after a short-notice fight was scheduled against Slovakian Nikolas Krivak in his home country of the Czech Republic.

It seems promotion Oktagon MMA had booked Rousal without ever seeing him, though, because there was shock when he appeared topless at the weigh in.

The inexperienced fighter, who is 0-1 in professional kickboxing, is covered by a lot of ink, including a large portrait of Adolf Hitler on his right arm and a skull wearing an SS cap on his chest.

Ondrej Novotny, the promoter of the fight, told idnes.cz: "It cannot happen that you would come here looking like that.

"We have a clause about that in the contract, we could fine him. For the tattoo on his chest as well. No way.

"It’s absolutely justified that there’s an outcry. We didn’t study what he looks like, neither did our photographers or our cameramen noticed the tattoo.

"Nobody spoke of it beforehand. We did not know about it, certainly not."

Should he be allowed to compete if the tattoo is removed? Let us know in the comments section.

Rousal and his gym, Muay Thai Brno, explained that he intended to have the tattoos removed.

A deadline of January had been set for this to happen, but the fight opportunity was unexpectedly presented to him at the end of last year.

Rousal explained: “I grew up in the troubled community of people that made this tattoo.

“At the time, I didn’t know what to do with life, I was young and this tattoo was stupid.

"Later, I started doing martial arts, which led me to a completely different life and worldview.

"I have more tattoos that I regret, I gradually remove them all. I also want to apologise with my statement."

Oktagon MMA have banned him from competing after his explantation was rejected by boss Novotny.

He said: "I told him he was crazy. I'm not a tattoo expert, but how long can it take to tattoo this? Two days?

"It's nice that he basically distanced himself from it, I trust him and I'm able to understand everything, but not this and it can be done faster. Most importantly, it must be seen. This is not very visible yet."
