McGregor laughs as Diaz appears to choke out ‘Logan Paul lookalike’
Tommy Fury reflects on ‘amazing’ fight with Jake Paul
Conor McGregor has reacted to his former UFC rival, Nate Diaz, appearing to choke out a “Logan Paul lookalike” Rodney Petersen in the streets of New Orleans. The altercation came after Diaz got into a water bottle melee with Netflix reality star Chase DeMoor during the Misfits & DAZN: X Series 6 main card.
A viral social media video appears to show the UFC legend brawling with a man being dubbed a “Logan Paul lookalike”, Petersen, outside what appears to be outside the New Orleans’ XULA Convention Center. The video appears to show the 38-year-old put his arm around Petersen’s neck and choked him out, leaving him on the floor seemingly unconscious.
“Got attacked by Nate Diaz,” Peterson wrote on his Instagram story. “Wtf I was like bro chill.” Express Sport has reached out to Diaz’s manager for comment.
Diaz’s dust-up in New Orleans comes ahead of his pro boxing debut against YouTube star-turned-boxer Jake Paul, who is coming off the back of a loss to Tommy Fury. The Stockton Brawler will take on Paul in a 185lb catchweight at the American Airlines Center on August 5th in Dallas, Texas.
One man who found the incident funny was Diaz’s old UFC rival, McGregor. The pair fought twice, both winning once, and a trilogy fight has been teased recently.
“Hahaha Nate on a rampage tonight,” McGregor tweeted. “Let’s go Nate! Hahaha.”

“Lovely little knee to the body hahahaa,” The Notorious One later added. After praising his rival, McGregor went back to bragging about his own skill set, claiming he’d “mince” Diaz, or anyone, in a clinch. “I mince Nate in the clinch these days,” McGregor said. “Actually anyone in the clinch. Minced. Left like bolognese ya go against me in the clinch.”
Diaz is a free agent after his deal with the UFC ended following a win over Tony Ferguson last year. UFC president Dana White was left shocked by the video. “His head bounced like a f****** basketball,” White is heard saying alongside popular streamer Adin Ross.
