Inside Mark Zuckerberg’s training camp and what UFC stars make of his ability
Tyson Fury to face face former UFC star Ngannou
Mark Zuckerberg has been putting in the hard yards ahead of a potential ‘Battle of the Billionaires’ bout against fellow social media owner Elon Musk. The pair could meet in a cage fight after exchanging words, but it’s clear the Meta owner is going the extra mile in preparation.
Rumours of a fight have been circling for weeks after both entrepreneurs called each other out via their respective social media platforms. Despite no official confirmation of a fight taking place, both have been training for a highly-anticipated celebrity clash.
While Elon Musk has been offered training from UFC fighters, it’s his potential opponent who is putting his money where his mouth is. In recent weeks Zuckerberg was pictured shirtless following a training session with UFC duo Alexander Volkanovski and two-time UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya.
And Adesanya recently opened up on his experiences training with the 39-year-old businessman. Speaking via Freestyle Bender, Adesanya was asked if he was impressed with Zuckerberg’s abilities.
“Yeah for the amount of time we are training and the amount of time he trains. I wanted him to feel the pressure of what it would be like to have a bigger man going after him,” he said.
“So I wasn’t like nice to him, I was coaching him. It was kind of like a crash course in fighting. So I was coaching him as we were going along, and he was a smart man. I’ll tell you he’s a smart man.”
Adesanya was also left impressed by Zuckerberg’s ambition when he recalled Facebook’s owner asking, “Israel can we go another round?” shortly after finishing the last one. It’s no surprise the UFC star then compared him to “a feisty Jack Russell.”

Adesanya wasn’t the only fighter who has been left impressed by Zuckerberg’s MMA abilities. In a recent interview with TMZ Sports UFC featherwieght champion Alexander Volkanovski said: “I guarantee you, you guys would be very surprised.
“He’s been training and as you’ve seen he did a jiu-jitsu comp not that long ago, and you’ve seen some footage of us training I think later last year so I’ve already trained [with him]. But I said from the first time I met him what a bit of an athlete he is, people just don’t get to see that side of him.
“As you can see from that photo, I think that’s what raised a lot of eyebrows, he’s in shape. I mean you can see it that he’s in shape but he really is in shape. It’s not just looks, he really is, he trains, he’s pretty athletic, he’s coordinated and he’s committed… He loves it, he’s got a passion for it.”
