Conor McGregor body transformation defies biology by bulking up at inhuman speed
Conor McGregor's body transformation is 'almost impossible' according to experts after the Irishman demonstrated his new chiselled physique.
The Irishman has put on a staggering two-and-a-half stone of pure muscle since his defeat to Dustin Poirier over the summer.
And even more impressively, McGregor achieved all of this while recovering from a sickening leg break that occurred during the bout.
However, according to Strengthlog, McGregor's muscular gains should be almost impossible.
The site claims that an average beginner would typically gain four to seven pounds of 'fat-free mass' over a three-month period with the same plan; in six-months McGregor has gained 34lbs.
McGregor's personal trainer Alejandro Celdran recently spoke to Spanish outlet AS to break down McGregor's methods.
Celdran revealed that hypertrophy training – focusing on growing the size of the muscle – became a priority for the Notorious One.
The pair accomplished this by using a high volume of training rather than frequency, with a minimum of four weekly sessions for each muscle group, and resting between sets.
