American UFC fighter Belal Muhammad is topping the card on the upcoming UFC Fight Night where he’s set to take on American born Brazilian Vicente Luque.

The welterweight matchup will see two fighters with good records look to make their next steps in the sport.

Muhammad, 33 and Luque, 30 will be looking to make a statement and overcome their rival at the weekend. The odds for the two fighters don’t give too much away, with UFC offering a narrow margin of Luque at -165 to Muhammad’s +145.

This isn’t the first time the two fighters have met, with Muhammad, in particular, likely to feel like he has some unfinished business with his opponent.

When is Vicente Luque Vs Belal Muhammad?

Vicente Luque vs Belal Muhammad is set to take place in the early hours of Sunday, April 17 at around 1.30am. The action is due to go down at UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada.

This isn’t Muhammad’s first time at the top of a Fight Night card. Back in March 2021, he headed up Fight Night 187 against Leon Edwards but their clash was brought to a grinding halt after an accidental eye poke brought an end to things in the second round.

His second time as the main event, Muhammad will be hoping for more of a spectacle than on his first time out.

Ahead of UFC Fight Night: Luque Vs Muhammad, Muhammad has an impressive record at 20 wins and just three losses.

Of his 20 wins, four have come from knockout or technical knockout and just one from submission.

Meanwhile, the remaining 15 have come from the judges’ decision.

Of his losses, two have come from a decision and one from KO – he was stopped by none other than this weekend’s opponent himself, Vicente Luque.

The battering came through punches all the way back in 2016 on the undercard of Alvarez Vs McGregor and now, six years later, will be looking for his revenge.

Who has Belal Muhammad beaten?

Muhammad last fought in December 2021, where he overcame Stephen Thompson by unanimous decision.

In the summer of that year, he had beaten away Demian Maia via judges decision at UFC 263: Adesanya Vs Vettori 2.

Not taking into account the no-contest result against Edwards, Muhammad is now on a winning streak of six fights unbeaten and will be looking to extend that to seven against Luque.

His six victims include Thompson, Maia, Dhiego Lima, Lyman Good, Takashi Sato and Curtis Millender.

Before this, he lost on judges’ decision to Geoff Neal – but this was all the way back in January 2019, meaning Muhammed hasn’t lost a fight in three years and three months. Whether he can take this exceptional run of form to Luque on Sunday remains to be seen but it certainly sets the stage for an intriguing evening.
