52-year-old fighter disqualified for biting opponent after replacing son

A 52-year-old fighter sensationally replaced his son in an MMA bout only to suffer disqualification for biting his opponent.

Mateusz Muranski was set to meet Arkadiusz Tancula in the ring at Fame MMA 12 last weekend at the Ergo Arena in Gdansk, Poland.

The duo clashed back in May, with Tancula defeating Muranski in his professional debut via unanimous decision.

Muranski was deemed unable to compete in the rematch but his father, Jacek Muranski, sensationally stepped in to compete despite being 52 years old.

The event was using a 9ft x 9ft cage for the main event, with five rounds lasting two minutes each.

Muranski defied his age to survive against Tancula, who had a spectacular size advantage over his opponent.

He used his size and power to knock Muranski off his feet with an overwhelming barrage of right handed strikes.

Muranski managed to get back to his feet and clinched up Tancula to avoid being finished.

Muranski was struggling and did well to reach the fourth round, but the respect he had built by fighting was arguably lost when he bit the 32-year-old on the shoulder and repeatedly grabbed the cage to avoid being defeated.

Tancula left the cage in frustration after his disqualification win and Muranski gave an interview but was booed by the Gdansk crowd as he spoke with his arm in a sling.

Tancula made his MMA debut in 2019 and has compiled a 4-1 record across his professional career.

Four of his fights have taken place for the Fame MMA promotion, and he knocked out Marcin Malczynski in October before his win over the elder Muranski.

Before his unplanned fight at Fame MMA 12, Muranski had called out popular Polish rapper 'Popek' to meet him in the cage.

“Popek is Judas. Popek is shot. But why? Because I finally have the documents. Well, Popek is a Judas,” the 52-year-old said in a bizarre tirade.

“This is just a regular junkie. This is zero. It has no synapses. This is ordinary garbage, stoned garbage. It no longer works in the normal world.”

Former two-time runner up at Europe's Strongest Man and two-time Poland's Strongest Man Krzysztof Radzikowski also fought at the Fame MMA 12 event.

Radzikowski lost a three-round decision to professional bodybuilder Piotr Piechowiak, who registered the third win of his career in the process.
