Stefanos Tsitsipas smashes racket in anger during Reilly Opelka clash

Stefanos Tsitsipas was unable to control his anger after losing the second set to Reilly Opelka, hurling his racket to the floor in their Natonal Bank Open semi-final.

The world No 3 was leading by a set and was 15-30 up on the Opelka serve at 5-5 in the second to give himself a chance to break and serve out the match.

Instead, the pair went to a tiebreak for a second time in the match, with the Greek having won the first 7-2.

There was nothing separating Tsitsipas and the 6’11 American as they changed ends at 3-3 in the breaker but an unforced error from the Monte Carlo champion gave Opelka the advantage.

Tsitsipas found himself back on serve at 4-5 points in the tiebreak but served a double fault to hand his opponent a mini-break, and then sent a ball into the air during the next rally to lose the set.
