Netflix will continue on with its golf and tennis docuseries’, with the streaming giant announcing there will be a second season of Full Swing and Break Point.

The former followed the PGA Tour, including some of its foremost stars in Dustin Johnson, Jordan Spieth and Justin Thomas.

Meanwhile, tennis fans caught a glimpse of the electric Nick Kyrgios and American rising star Taylor Fritz, among others.

‘These shows quickly appealed to core fans of golf and tennis, and also recruited brand new fans from all around the world,’ Brandon Riegg, Netflix’s vice president of unscripted and documentary series, told The Athletic.

‘Like so much of our growing sports slate, the compelling characters, competitive stakes, and vibrant storytelling reveal sides of the game you’ve never seen before, and we’re excited to follow the unpredictable turns of the year ahead.’

Many believe Full Swing’s popularity is a result of the conflict between PGA Tour and LIV golf players who quit the main competition to break away, which sparked chaos in the golfing world.

The Telegraph reported Full Swing has been a major success and proved Netflix’s second-most popular show during its first week, but LIV confirmed that producers have not approached them with a view to attending upcoming events.

The news swiftly follows the announcement of Netflix’s imminent emergence in the NFL world.

Reigning Super Bowl champion and MVP, Patrick Mahomes, headlines the signal-callers involved in a docuseries – the first of an ongoing partnership – covering the 2022 NFL season.

Minnesota’s Kirk Cousins and Atlanta’s Marcus Mariota are the other quarterbacks featured in Quarterback, set to be released on Netflix in the summer.

Quarterback will be the first of several seasons where NFL fans receive an insight into the lives and teams of the league’s best paid, and most admired, players.

‘I’m excited for fans to get an exclusive, behind-the-scenes look at an unforgettable season for the entire Chiefs organization and for my family,’ Mahomes said in a statement in February.

Tom Brady is reportedly in talks with Netflix to star in a roast special, according to TMZSports, which purportedly has a working title of ‘The Greatest Roast of All Time’.

The report does specify the seven-time Super Bowl champion is not pursuing a full career in comedy.
