The action at Wimbledon has continued with a host of big names progressing into the next round, while others were dumped out of the tournament in major shocks.

Luckily, there are plenty of enthralling matches to look forward to with drama non-stop at the All England Club, with several potential winners involved on Wednesday.

So, with this in mind, Sportsmail has picked out the showdowns to watch out for…

THREE TO WATCH

KATARZYNA KAWA (POL) v ONS JABEUR (TUN, 3)

Jabeur withdrew from Eastbourne with a knee injury but put any fitness fears to bed with a straightforward opening win. Next she takes on qualifier Kawa in the final match on Court 3. The Tunisian is one of the most stylish and creative players on the tour and her artistry is ideally suited to grass. She has a seriously good chance this fortnight of becoming the first Arab woman to win a Grand Slam.

TALLON GRIEKSPOOR (NED) v CARLOS ALCARAZ (ESP, 5)

After his epic first-round win over Jan-Lennard Struff, what will Alcaraz come up with next? The Spaniard is learning to play on grass on the fly and this will be another test of his credentials in only his fourth match on the surface. Griekspoor, meanwhile, scored a notable win over Fabio Fognini in the first round.

CASPER RUUD (NOR, 3) v UGO HUMBERT (FRA)

Ruud is the first French Open runner-up since Andy Murray in 2016 to survive the first round of Wimbledon. It is not an easy transition from clay to grass in just three weeks but so far the Norwegian is handling it. He will have his work cut out on Court 2 against Humbert, an extravagantly talented shotmaker. Expect Gallic fireworks on one side of the net, Scandinavian cool on the other.

GROUND PASS BONUS

FRANCES TIAFOE (USA) v MAXIMILIAN MARTERER (GER)

Tiafoe oozes charisma and is sure to charm the crowd in the first match on Court 18 against German qualifier Maximilian Marterer. He is in a wide-open section of the draw and has a realistic chance of making his first Grand Slam semi-final.
