Andy Murray has claimed Emma Raducanu will be finding it difficult to enjoy her sensational US Open run, amid the nerves and pressure that come with performing at a Grand Slam. The British teenager has reached the quarter-finals in New York on her debut appearance.

Raducanu stole hearts at Wimbledon in the summer, reaching the fourth round after receiving a wildcard to feature in the tournament proper.

The 18-year-old qualified for the US Open with ease, winning in straight sets in all three qualifying rounds.

Her electric form has continued throughout the tournament, recording straight-set victories in all four rounds on her way to the last eight.

She’s currently facing Swiss world number 12 Belinda Bencic for a place in the semi-finals.

Murray’s US Open campaign didn’t go as well after receiving a tough draw, losing 3-2 to world number three Stefanos Tsitsipas in the first round.

The Scot is a former Grand Slam winner, though, and has shared some insight into how Raducanu will be feeling as a US Open quarter-finalist.

He told Amazon Prime: “A lot of people in these situations say to go out there and enjoy it. I think it’s quite difficult to do that, to be honest.

“These are the situations you want to get yourself in, but there’s no question Emma is going to feel nervous, and she’ll feel pressure.
