Andy Murray and Emma Raducanu are both in singles action at Indian Wells this week, but they could also feature in the mixed doubles. It’s been two-and-a-half years since players from the ATP and WTA have competed at the BNP Paribas Open due to COVID-19 restrictions.

It’s an exciting time in tennis for British fans as well with Emma Raducanu making her first appearance at a tournament since her historic win at the US Open.

Murray too is showing signs that he’s getting close to competing with the best players on tour again.

There will be plenty of focus on both this week ahead of their opening matches on Friday night.

Raducanu received a bye in the first round and will face Aliaksandra Sasnovich while Murray takes on Frenchman Adrian Mannarino.

JUST IN: Raducanu might not repeat her lucky US Open trick at Indian Wells

Both matches are scheduled for the early hours of the morning UK time, meaning some British fans may not be able to watch them live.

The day sessions begin at 11am local time (7pm BST) and there may be some occasions where Murray and/or Raducanu headline play in the morning.

There is definitely intrigue around the British pair with supporters keen to catch a glimpse of them in action.

But the singles draw may not be the only place to catch Raducanu and Murray in action this week.

DON’T MISS

In recent years, Murray has competed in the doubles events and famously partnered up with Serena Williams at Wimbledon in 2019.

He also played in the men’s doubles at the Italian Open earlier in the year, featuring alongside compatriot Liam Broady.

And now there’s some suggestion that Murray could form a blockbuster partnership with Raducanu at Indian Wells.

Tennis Channel got the rumour started with a video of the pair leaving the practice courts on Thursday together, deep in conversation.

And the prospect of Murray and Raducanu playing mixed doubles together was talked up.

Fans could be heard asking for autographs and photos from both players and they’re likely to command a huge following throughout the tournament.

Meanwhile, Murray has been somewhat preoccupied in his preparations after having his wedding ring stolen in a bizarre incident.

The three-time Grand Slam champion left his shoes underneath his car to try and air them out as he didn’t want to leave a smell in his room, only to forget that he also tied his wedding ring to the laces.

The shoes were stolen overnight, leading to Murray making a public plea for the shoes and ring to be returned. And there was a happy ending on Thursday as the 34-year-old posted an update that both had been found.
