Xavi ‘will tell his unwanted Barcelona players they are set to be sold THIS WEEK’ after wrapping up the LaLiga title four games early… with the club needing to balance the books this summer to bring in new signings

  • Barca will need to rake in £178m in order to comply with Financial Fair Play rules
  • The manager will ‘offload Ansu Fati, Jordi Alba, Franck Kessie and Ferran Torres’

Barcelona manager Xavi will tell his unwanted Barcelona players they are set to be sold this week after wrapping up the LaLiga title four games early.

Xavi recognises the importance of selling players before pursuing any new transfer targets due to the financial circumstances at the club.

The La Liga giants are in desperate need of funds this summer and will need to rake in £178m in order to comply with Financial Fair Play rules – meaning several stars could be departing the Nou Camp.

He will offload four players, including Ansu Fati, Jordi Alba, Franck Kessie and Ferran Torres, in order to raise those funds, according to Sport.

Spanish international Fati signed a six-year deal at the club back in 2021, inserting an £846million (€1billion) release clause into his contract.

Billed as one of the brightest young stars in Europe, the 20-year-old has been linked with a move away from the club, with Tottenham, Arsenal and Manchester United interested.

Left-back Alba is entering his 11th season at the Blaugrana, but his Barca career was almost curtailed last summer.

Inter Milan were interested in signing Alba on loan but the player refused to entertain the idea.

Kessie reportedly rejected both a move to Tottenham and a return to AC Milan in the January transfer window.

It comes despite the Ivory Coast midfielder only joining the Catalan giants in the 2022 summer window, where he signed a four-year deal following the expiry of his Milan contract.

Kessie is yet to find his feet at Barcelona and is experiencing a sustained spell outside of the starting eleven for the first time in his career.

Torres has only scored seven times in 41 games and could find himself on the way out of Barcelona.

Barcelona won their 27th LaLiga title and first for four years after a 4-2 win at city rivals Espanyol on Sunday.

They were crowned following a remarkable domestic campaign built around a rock-solid defence, a huge change from the club’s traditional style of play.
