Wrexham owner Ryan Reynolds has shared his condolences with National League rivals Notts County following the passing of the club’s chief executive, Jason Turner.
The two teams are currently level on points at the top of the table with Notts County ahead by a goal difference of only two, as they both vie for the coveted promotion spot to play in League Two next season.
But Reynolds was quick to suspend the rivalry upon hearing the news of Turner’s death.
The actor and businessman took to Twitter to pass on his sympathies to the club hierarchy, players and their fans.
Reynolds posted in response to the club’s official statement: ‘Terrible news. Sending condolences to the entire NCFC organization.’

Turner is said to have died ‘suddenly’ at the age of 50 on Thursday night, as per a statement from Notts County
He later added: ‘Just finished reading more about Jason Turner. Gone way too soon. Love and condolences to his family and the top-notch organization of NCFC.’
Turner, who was appointed the club’s chief executive in 2016, is said to have passed away ‘suddenly’ at the age of 50 on Thursday night.
He had previously worked across the football pyramid at clubs including Bath City, Newport County, Plymouth Argyle and Cardiff City.
The club – which is not due to play its next fixture until April 7 – will close until Monday at the earliest.
The Wrexham owner’s message was greeted with a wellspring of support, with fans of both clubs praising his gesture, and those of Notts County thanking Reynolds.

In October, Notts County beat Wrexham 1-0, but lead them by just two goals in the table now
His condolences joined a chorus of other notes of sympathy from football clubs such as Huddersfield Town, Coventry City, Yeovil Town and Derby County.
Historic crosstown rivals Nottingham Forest also suspended hostilities, with the Premier League club posting: ‘The thoughts of everyone at Nottingham Forest are with Jason’s family, friends and all at Notts County during this difficult time.’
There are just five matches left in the National League season, with the top of the table rivals are due to face one another on April 10 in an end-of-season crescendo at the Racecourse Ground.
The Welsh side lost 1-0 to the league leaders, who are the oldest professional football club in the world, in the reverse tie in October.
