Wealdstone FC’s 14-year-old youth talent Teddy Disson-Meade passes away, with the club hailing the late teenager as a ‘fantastically gifted player and valued member’

A heart-broken football club has paid tribute to one of their youngsters that tragically lost his life earlier in the week.
Teddy Disson-Meade died aged 14. His club Wealdstone FC have published an emotional farewell to the youngster who was ‘fantastically gifted’.
The teenager played for the national league side’s Under 14 group. The club’s first-team will be wearing t-shirts in the warm-up in Saturday’s visit to Southend United where there will also be a minutes silence before full-time.
Publishing a statement on their website, Wealdstone FC announced: ‘It is with incredibly heavy hearts that we announce that Wealdstone Youth U14 Reds player Teddy Disson-Meade sadly passed away earlier this week.
‘Teddy was a fantastically gifted player but more importantly a popular and valued member of our U14 group, he will be greatly missed by all his friends here at the club.

‘Our thoughts go out to his parents Sinead and Ricky at this time and of course to all his friends and family.
‘Our first team squad will wear t-shirts in Teddy’s memory during the warm up at Saturday’s fixture away at Southend United and there will be a minute’s silence before the game.

The news has touched the hearts of the wider footballing community with other clubs and supporters of other teams sending their condolences.
Replying to the online post, one commenter wrote: ‘My deepest condolences to Teddy’s family, his friends, those who knew him on any level, his community and everyone at Wealdstone. My heart goes out to you all.
Another said: ‘Not even as a father but just as a human being, this is heart-breaking, sending love and strength to the family and loved ones.’
