Former Everton striker Wayne Rooney has been tipped to take over at Goodison Park following the sacking of Rafa Benitez.
Rooney, 36, has worked wonders at troubled Championship side Derby County.
He guided the Rams to safety on the final day in his first season in charge and they are currently just eight points from safety despite administration, a transfer embargo and a 21 point deduction.

Another Toffees legend, Duncan Ferguson, is second favourite at 7/2, while Belgium boss Roberto Martinez is 4/1 to return for a second stint in charge in the next permanent Everton manager market with Betfair.
Benitez was sacked on Sunday after less than seven months in charge.
The Toffees appointed the former Liverpool manager, 61, as Carlo Ancelotti’s successor in June.

Everton, who lost 2-1 to Norwich City on Saturday, have won only one of their last 13 Premier League games and sit 16th in the table, six points above the relegation places.
The club say an update on a permanent replacement will be made in due course.
And Sky Sports reports that Rooney would find it hard to turn down the Everton job.

‘Looking at who could take over from the Spaniard, punters have been clear with their choice: one of Everton’s favourite sons, Wayne Rooney has been backed into being the 6/5 favourite from 7/2 just 24 hours ago.
‘Duncan Ferguson is currently second favourite at 7/2, while former Toffees’ manager Roberto Martinez is also in the running at 4/1. Frank Lampard and Paulo Fonseca have been linked with a number of vacant positions this season and their odds over taking over at Goodison are 13/2 and 10/1 respectively
