Unai Emery ‘sent player ‘f*** you’ text and wouldn’t let team go to the toilet’
Artem Dzyuba has lashed out at Unai Emery for sending a "f*** you" text during his ill-fated stint at Spartak Moscow.
The Aston Villa boss, 51, spent just six months in the Russian capital before he was brutally axed after a humiliating 5-1 defeat to arch-rivals Dynamo Moscow in November 2012. In the wake of Emery's dismissal, Dzyuba claims the Spaniard sent a foul-mouthed message to team-mate Aiden McGeady whilst also highlighting his ex-manager as a "very strange, difficult person" who was "disliked by the team".
Speaking to Sport 24, Dzyuba, 34, was initially quizzed on if he could recall which manager gave the quote "Dzyuba turned the players and journalists against me as soon as I started giving him less game practice."

"Of course, Unai Emery," replied the ex-Russia captain. He then claimed: "I think he said it in his heart, out of resentment or something else, he had to say something.
"Everything became clear with him when he had already left Spartak and sent a text to Aiden McGeady. He wrote to Aiden McGeady 'F*** you.' Would a normal coach write this to a player? It's strange.

"He didn't write anything to me. I don't think he even knows my phone number. And, by the way, McGeady's is a good question – how did Emery get his phone number? Emery texted him 'F*** you'. I liked McGeady, he said 'F*** you' to him. It was very funny."
The ex-Russia captain continued: "He is a very strange, difficult person…. He could stand to serve corners for two hours. It was simply unbearable. McGeady just got up and left once. He says, 'Aiden, hit the ball right.'
"And Aiden was so emotional. Unai drops everything, gets on his knees: 'How much can you?' It was strange for us, not to let anyone go to the toilet or something for two hours."
Dzyuba is the greatest goalscorer in Russian Premier League history, rattling in 148 goals over 18 seasons. He enjoyed spells at Spartak Moscow and Zenit Saint Petersburg before leaving his homeland for a new venture in Turkey, linking up with Adana Demirspor at the end of last season.
But just four appearances later, the forward is back to add to his tally in Russia, penning a short-term deal with Lokomotiv Moscow.
