Tuchel’s livid reaction to woeful Ronaldo decision saw Chelsea boss booked

Thomas Tuchel was booked during his side's draw with Manchester United on Sunday evening for his furious reaction to United winning a corner.

Cristiano Ronaldo, who had been dropped from the starting side, was clearly offside when he won the Red Devils a corner.

However, due to VAR protocols, the assistant kept his flag down and because Ronaldo didn't shoot a corner was awarded.

This led to a fuming Tuchel storm down the touchline, demanding to know why his side didn't have a free kick for the clear offside.

And the German was given a yellow card for his troubles.

Chelsea were frustrated by Michael Carrick's Red Devils on Sunday evening.

And that incident wasn't the first time Tuchel had drawn the wrath of the referee after he dumped about the amount of added-on time a couple of minutes beforehand.

United rode their luck as Jorginho's error allowed Jadon Sancho to pounce on the loose ball and put United ahead.

However, after Aaron Wan-Bissaka brought Thiago Silva down in the box Jorginho saved Chelsea's blushes.

Interestingly it could be Tuchel's old mentor Ralf Rangnick in the United dugout next weekend.

After a career-ending injury, Tuchel worked in a bar in Stuttgart, and it was Rangnick that invited the German to come and coach their academy while he was in charge of the first team.
