The transfer window closes at 11PM on Thursday, September 1, and Premier League clubs are scrambling to complete their business. Several teams are still scouring the market in a bid to strengthen their squads. Express Sport brings you the latest.

Manchester United could announce the £84million capture of Ajax winger Antony on Tuesday. Chelsea are closing in on a deal for Leicester central defender Wesley Fofana, who is undergoing a medical in the US on the advice of the Blues’ Boehly-Clearlake ownership partnership.

Neither club could stop at those two deals. United are believed to want another striker and a midfielder, while Chelsea are still pursuing several targets.

The likes of Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham could still make further additions in the final days of the transfer window. Follow all the latest with Express Sport.

Fulham to sign Willian

Former Chelsea attacker Willian is set to sign for Fulham on a one-year deal, according to reports.

The 34-year-old will apparently return to the Premier League to add experience to Marco Silva’s squad.

Brazilian football expert Bruno Andrade reports that the winger is due to sign a deal until the end of the 2022-23 season.

Willian has not played in the Premier League since ending a disappointing spell with Arsenal in 2021. He has been playing for Corinthians in Brazil, although has been training with Fulham all summer.

The Brazil international made 237 Premier League appearances for Chelsea.

Wesley Fofana in US for Chelsea medical

Wesley Fofana is due to undergo the second part of his Chelsea medical on Tuesday.

The Athletic were first to report that the defender was due to fly to the US this week to have medical checks.

That is because Chelsea’s new American owners want ‘peace of mind’ over a near-£80m deal.

Fofana, who will join the Blues from Leicester, returned from a serious broken leg injury in February.

Chelsea want absolute assurance that it will not have long-term affects on his wellbeing before paying the Foxes a huge fee.

Arsenal’s new target

Arsenal have added surprise new target Mychajlo Mudryk to their shortlist, according to reports.

Mikel Arteta wants to sign a new winger before the deadline. However, deals for either Pedro Neto or Wilfried Zaha could prove tricky.

The Gunners have apparently turned their attention to Shakhtar Donetsk winger Mudryk, who was linked with Everton earlier in the transfer window.

Fabrizio Romano says that the Ukrainian is under ‘consideration’.

Man Utd’s Victor Osimhen plan

Victor Osimhen is reportedly a leading transfer target for Manchester United but the Red Devils could wait until next summer to pursue a transfer.

Some reports have suggested that Osimhen could be involved in a swap deal with Cristiano Ronaldo, who has been linked with Napoli.

Super-agent Jorge Mendes has been trying to complete a deal including the pair.

However, United want to sign the 23-year-old Osimhen regardless of Ronaldo’s future.

Sky Sport add that it could be a deal for next summer, with United not yet making a formal approach to the Serie A side.
