Tottenham winger Jack Clarke is in talks over a loan move to Stoke City.

The 20-year-old had spells with Leeds and QPR last season and Tottenham want him to gain more experience and game time.

He came on as a substitute during Sunday’s emphatic FA Cup win over Marine but further opportunities are likely to be limited.

Other Championship clubs have shown interest but Stoke are now leading the way.

Manager Michael O’Neill has been busy in this window having secured Rabbi Matondo from Schalke and left back Rhys Norrington-Davies from Sheffield United.

He also hopes to add Aston Villa’s Keinan Davis after injuries sidelined Tyrese Campbell and Steven Fletcher.

Stoke have also won the race for Charlton’s Alfie Doughty though he will remain with the League One side on loan.

Stoke have already signed winger Rabbi Matondo on a six-month loan deal from Schalke 04

Clarke has found opportunities hard to come by at Tottenham with the likes of Gareth Bale and Steven Bergwijn ahead of him.

They are also weighing up wingers for the summer though expect a quiet January.

Jose Mourinho would prefer to add cover at defensive midfield and centre back if the chance arose for this window.

Question marks remain over the future of Davinson Sanchez while Danny Rose and Paulo Gazzaniga are available if offers come in.

Michael O’Neill’s play-off chasing Potters are also interested in Aston Villa striker Keinan Davis
