Tottenham have been urged to stick with Antonio Conte until the end of the season despite the Italian’s incredible outburst after Southampton’s late comeback on Saturday. Conte seemed to take aim at owners ENIC and his players after the Saints came back from 3-1 down to draw 3-3.
In a poll of Express Sport readers, fans believe Conte should remain until the end of the campaign. They want to see club icon Mauricio Pochettino brought back to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium to replace the 53-year-old in the summer.
After the game, Conte slammed the club’s owners and players for a lack of ambition. Despite that, 52 per-cent of fans believe the head coach should remain in his position until the summer.
Conte has a deal that expires in the summer. It is highly unlikely that he will sign a new one, with neither party keen on continuing a relationship that appears to have become toxic.

When the former Chelsea boss departs, fans believe he should be replaced by Pochettino. The Argentine has been backed by a resounding 40 per-cent of respondents. Twenty per-cent believe Thomas Tuchel should be appointed, Thomas Frank and Roberto Di Zerbi are backed by six per-cent each, while 20 per-cent believe another coach should be given the job.
It comes after Conte tore into the Spurs hierarchy and the players for accepting a culture where they do not play for trophies. In a remarkable rant, he raged: “The club pay us a lot of money. The players receive money, I receive money, you understand?
“For me this is unacceptable because for me this is the first time in my career to see a situation like this. Until now I wasn’t able to change, not to change but compared to last season, the situation has become worse.

“Why? Because they are used to it here, they are used to it. They don’t play for something important. They don’t want to play under pressure, they don’t want to play under stress. It is easy in this way.
“Tottenham’s story is this. Twenty years there is the owner and they never won something but why? The fault is only for the club, or for every manager that stay here? I have seen the managers that Tottenham had on the bench. You risk to disrupt the figure of the manager and to protect the other situation in every moment.
“Until now I try to hide the situation but now no because I repeat I don’t want to see what I have seen today because this is unacceptable and also unacceptable for the fans. They follow us, pay the ticket and to see the team another time to have this type of performance is unacceptable. We have to think a lot about this.”
