Tottenham target Brendan Rodgers ‘has reservations’ about potentially replacing Jose Mourinho, according to reports. The Leicester boss has done a fantastic job over at the King Power Stadium. And with the Foxes looking likely to secure Champions League qualification, Spurs appear to have their work cut out.
Tottenham ruthlessly brought the axe crashing down on Mourinho last week.
The 58-year-old had overseen a nightmare Premier League campaign and was sacked shortly before the club’s Carabao Cup final showdown with Manchester City.
It’s been widely reported that Rodgers is Tottenham’s No 1 candidate to take over, with the Northern-Irishman working wonders at Leicester.
Yet the Daily Mail claim he has reservations about taking over.
It’s unknown what they are but Rodgers has previously expressed relief at snubbing Spurs, having rejected them when he was in charge of Swansea.
Over at Leicester, they’re expecting to play in the Champions League next term.

And that will be a major obstacle for Tottenham to overcome, with the club potentially missing out on a place in both that competition and the Europa League.
Rodgers is being eyed at a time where Julian Nagelsmann is poised to join Bayern Munich.
And Erik Ten Hag, Ralf Rangnick and Roberto Martinez are all candidates to replace Mourinho as well, who will now be planning for his next adventure.
Martinez is said to be interested in the vacancy – though will want to take the reigns after he works with Belgium at the European Championships.
And Rangnick is available after leaving RB Leipzig two years ago.

Meanwhile, former Tottenham boss Teddy Sheringham has expressed a belief that Rodgers would be the perfect fit for Tottenham.
“If I had the pick of the bunch and Tottenham were ready to go out and spend big money, which I presume they will, then I would go and break the bank for Brendan Rodgers,” he told Gambling.com.
“I think he’s done an outstanding job at the different clubs he’s been at.
“He knows the Premier League very well, he knows his system and how he wants the game to be played.
“He takes the game to the opposition, he doesn’t wait to capitalise on other peoples’ mistakes and he likes to control the game a bit like how Pep Guardiola does.
“Given the funds that were available for Jose Mourinho, if Rodgers was backed with the same sort of money then I think he would do a fantastic job.”
Sheringham does think, however, that appointing a manager with the ‘full package’ could be a tall order.
“It’s a tricky situation, because the Tottenham fans have a good idea of how they want their team to play,” he said.
“They’ve always had fantastic players on show, they’ve never been the type of club to grind out matches and win games 1-0, that’s not the Tottenham way.
“Maybe they’ll have to change that if they want to win something – everyone laughs at ‘The Tottenham Way’ which hasn’t won anything in however many years – but you’ve got to find a way of performing, exciting the fans, taking the game to the opposition and hopefully winning trophies in that mould.
“It’s very hard to get that whole package. Many managers have tried along the way.
“Pochettino was very close but it wasn’t enough. It’s all well and good having flair but you’ve got to win games and trophies as well.”
As for Mourinho, he’s been linked with Real Madrid.
Zinedine Zidane’s head may roll if he fails to guide the club to either La Liga or Champions League glory.
And he’s also been linked with Celtic, though a move to the Scottish Premiership appears unlikely at the current moment in time.
