Tottenham make decision on Son Heung-min transfer exit as Al Ittihad ‘plan bid’
Tottenham Hotspur confirm Postecoglou appointment
Tottenham plan on resisting any bids from Al Ittihad for Son Heung-min, according to reports. The South Korea international has emerged as a shock target for the Saudi Pro League side as they look to add to their squad, having already recruited Karim Benzema already. However, it appears they could be about to waste their time with an opening bid of around £51million.
According to ESPN, Al Ittihad have set their sights on signing Son.
They’ve already raided Real Madrid for Benzema, with N’Golo Kante primed to join from Chelsea.
And they now want Son to come to the Middle East as well, with the Saudi side willing to offer a fee in the region of £51m to get a deal done.
However, the report says Tottenham ‘would not be interested in listening to an approach if a formal bid is made’.
And that suggests they’re confident of keeping the 30-year-old, who has been a key player ever since his arrival back in 2015.

Son’s current deal is due to expire in 2025.
And though he struggled last season he’s still a key player for the club, having scored 145 goals in 371 games for the club so far.
Son isn’t the only player being linked with a move away from the capital.
It’s an open secret that Harry Kane is in demand, with both Manchester United and Real Madrid interested.
But Tottenham are hopeful of keeping the 29-year-old, who scored twice in England’s 7-0 drubbing of North Macedonia on Monday night.
Kane has just a year left on his contract.
That means Spurs face selling their talisman now or running the risk of losing him for nothing in a year’s time.
However, that’s seemingly a gamble Tottenham are willing to take as they plan for a brighter future.
Speaking back in April, meanwhile, Son became Tottenham’s sixth highest-scorer of all time.
And he made it clear he saw his future at Spurs by admitting he’d love to build on his tally in the coming years ahead.
“I think I’ve got a few more years to play yet, so I will try to keep scoring more goals,” said the forward.
“I want to go a little bit higher [in the top scorers list], so I will do my best.
“It’s a big honour to have been playing for a few years now at this club.
“Obviously I’m not really focused to be tied with this goalscoring record, obviously I just want to help the team, but it’s a big honour to be compared with Jermain Defoe, who is a Spurs legend and scored so many goals for Spurs.
“So I think to tie this goal tally makes me hugely proud.”
Tottenham skipper Hugo Lloris said at the time: “Sonny’s still the same guy, honestly.
“The years have gone so fast! He has the same enthusiasm, same positivity, same energy, he just has 100 more Premier League goals!
“Step by step, he built his reputation, his stats, his importance to our team.
“People outside here don’t know him really well. We are here every day with him, we know him more deeply. He has the same attitude… honestly, there is no difference between the Sonny who came here in 2015 and now, just the goals, the stats.
“He still has the same willingness and desire. I don’t know his limit.
“Year after year, he’s reached different levels and today, he belongs up there with the best. He’s probably the best Asian player of all-time.
“More important than all that is the human side. It’s a joy to be with him and, for sure, he wants to continue a few more years like this.”
