Tottenham hero Richarlison in tears as he nets twice on Champions League debut
Tottenham star Richarlison broke down in tears after scoring twice on his Champions League debut.
The Brazil international proved integral for Antonio Conte against a stubborn Marseille side that had done well to keep the Premier League outfit from scoring. That was even after Chancel Mbemba was sent off for a last-man challenge on Heung-min Son.
But the French side's resolve was finally broken with 15 minutes to go when Richarlison powered home a header to open his account in all competitions. Five minutes later, the summer signing scored an even better effort in the air to leave the result in no doubt.

After the match had ended, Richarlison went over to a section of fans including a young fan holding up a sign written in Portuguese. Surrounded by his friends and family and hugging his father in the crowd, the £60million man broke down in tears.
It was an emotional moment for the 25-year-old, who has always dreamed of reaching the Champions League and has had a debut in the competition that he would have thought unthinkable.
After signing for Spurs, he said: "I always said my dream was to play in the Champions League and now this dream will come true. Maybe I will cry because it will be a special moment. When the time comes I'll be quite emotional."
Conte said: "I remember when Richy signed for us he said, 'I can't wait to play in the Champions League and listen to the music.' When a player says these words it means he has great desire and great will."
Richarlison's performance will strengthen Conte's opinion that the Brazilian is able to be an important player for Tottenham, especially amid Son's woes. The South Korea international is yet to score this season but the added firepower has alleviated some of the pressure.
And they will need to be at their best when they take on Manchester City this Saturday at the Etihad in the later kick-off.
