Tottenham can appoint their own Guardiola as Levy handed golden chance
Tottenham can appoint their own Pep Guardiola as their next manager, it has been claimed. Daniel Levy has a golden opportunity to win back the Spurs fans if he can bring in the right person to bring success to the north London club.
Feyenoord boss Arne Slot has been linked with the Tottenham vacancy. The 44-year-old was previously mentioned as a candidate for other Premier League jobs, including Leeds in February.
He has seen his stock rise with his impact at Feyenoord. Slot took over at the Eredivisie club in the summer of 2021 after just 18 months of managerial experience at AZ Alkmaar.
Feyenoord finished third in the Dutch top flight in his first season in charge but his most impressive performance was in Europe. He led his side to the Europa Conference League final, where they were beaten by Jose Mourinho’s Roma.

But this season Feyenoord are well placed to win the Eredivisie for the first time in six years and just the second time this century. Former Netherlands international Wim Kieft claims Slot has many similarities to Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola.
Kieft admits Slot has not yet had the opportunities Guardiola has had to work with world-class players but believes the philosophy of the two coaches is the same. He wrote in De Telegraaf: “The nice thing about Guardiola is that with him football is not just about winning prizes.
“Of course, he wants to win prizes, but he just makes sure it is always fun to watch his teams. At Barcelona he obviously had Lionel Messi, he had Xavi and Iniesta there too.
“But wherever he sat in all the years, everywhere you immediately saw his hand. What Guardiola does at Manchester City, Arne Slot does at Feyenoord, but at a different level.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp reviews the Spurs win
“That has everything to do with money, but his view and his philosophy are the same. Slot has to work with players of lesser quality.”
Slot is one of the contenders for the Tottenham job. The likes of Julian Nagelsmann and Vincent Kompany are thought to be more likely options for Spurs.
However, Kieft’s verdict on Slot may prick up the ears of Levy. Spurs fans want their owners to sell up and also see their chairman leave the club.
The only way Levy can get the supporters back on side is by making the right managerial appointment. The possibility of bringing in his own Guardiola may just be what he needs.
