Jose Mourinho got one over his former side as Roma took a 1-0 victory over Tottenham at the Sammy Ofer Stadium in Israel.

Jose Mourinho did have something to smile about eventually as he got one over his former side

Roma were impressive in the first-half with new signing Paulo Dybala electric for the Serie A side.

Ibanez handed Roma the lead after 29 minutes when he headed in from a corner by Lorenzo Pellegrini – with goalkeeper Hugo Lloris rooted to the spot.

Tottenham’s reprieve is short-lived as from the resulting corner from Pellegrini, Ibanez rises highest to glance home a fine header into the bottom corner.

Lloris was rooted to the spot, and like at Rangers last weekend, Spurs are going to have to come from behind here.

Harry Kane did find the back of the net after a one-two with Dejan Kulusevski, but the Swede was correctly ruled offside.

Spurs had a number of chances in the second-half to get back into the game, but Mourinho’s men held on to take the victory.
