Three things you missed as Liverpool beat Norwich to progress in FA Cup
Liverpool clinched their place in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup with a nervy 2-1 victory over Norwich City on Wednesday night.
No sooner had the Reds finished celebrating Sunday’s League Cup victory over Chelsea that they crucially dispatched the Canaries in front of the Anfield faithful.
Takumi Minamino was the hero of the night as he emphatically put Liverpool up by two in the first-half.
The Reds took their foot of the gas in the second and were punished by Lukas Rupp's 76th minute stunner, but managed to see out the game and avoid an upset.
Here, Daily Star Sport looks at three moments you might have missed as all the drama unfolded.
Cup hero Minamino
Minamino is fast becoming known as a good luck charm whenever Liverpool are in need of goals in knock-out games.
The Japanese winger, 27, once again proved his talent against Norwich as he clinically buried a chance from the six yard box 27 minutes in.
But it was his second that truly caught the eye, cushioning a headed clearance before rifling the ball into the roof of the net with a half-volley.
Minamino now has three goals in three FA Cup appearances this season to go with his four on the path to winning the Carabao Cup.
An even more encouraging sign for Liverpool fans is the fact the side also went on to win the League Cup the last time Minamino scored two goals against Norwich.
Klopp's set-piece merchants
Do you think Liverpool are currently the best English side? Let us know in the comments section.
Liverpool under Jurgen Klopp have become known for their intense pressing, silky attacking play and fast-paced counters.
Less known is the fact they have adopted the spirit of prime Stoke City and become true set-piece merchants this season.
The Reds have had 15 goals come from set-pieces in the Premier League alone this campaign.
Minamino’s thunderous second came from a Curtis Jones corner and will serve as another reminder of just how deadly the Reds are from dead-ball situations.

Playing at a hostile away ground like Anfield is never an easy task, especially in a cup tie.
It’s even worse when your side is getting battered and you’ve just been rammed into the advertising boards by grade-A troll Konstantinos Tsimikas.
That’s exactly what happened to Norwich winger Przemyslaw Placheta, who found himself bundled over while a fan savagely took a close-up photo.
Welcome to Anfield, indeed.
