Thomas Tuchel’s red card proves to fans Julian Nagelsmann sacking was ‘dreadful’
Bayern Munich's "dreadful" decision to sack Julian Nagelsmann was lambasted as Thomas Tuchel endured a nightmare night against Manchester City.
Tuchel's side were unable to mount a comeback in the second leg of their Champions League quarter-final having lost 3-0 at the Etihad last week. They drew 1-1 on the night, with Joshua Kimmich's late penalty cancelling out Erling Haaland's opener.
Bayern's boss, who replaced the sacked Nagelsmann last month, cut a very frustrated figure throughout on the sidelines. And after he was booked in the first half, he was given his marching orders in the dying embers of the match by referee Clement Turpin.

Fans felt it proved Nagelsmann should never have been let go. One tweeted: "Bayern deserve this for sacking Nagelsmann."
"Sacked Nagelsmann for this," echoed a second, while a third commented: "Bayern sacking Nagelsmann after knocking out PSG was a dreadful decision all things considered."
A fourth wrote: "Sacked Naglesmann for Tuchel juju this late in the season lol." And a fifth argued: "You have to feel for Nagelsmann, he'd have done better against City imo."

"This would never happen to Nagelsmann," claimed a sixth, before a seventh added: "Tuchel joined two weeks ago and he’s out of every competition."
Since Tuchel took charge Bayern have now been dumped out of the Champions League and the DFB Pokal, having been beat by Freiburg earlier in April.
They do remain top of the Bundesliga, two points above Borussia Dortmund who they beat 4-2 in Der Klassiker recently, but dropped two points in a 1-1 draw with Hoffenheim last weekend.
Nagelsmann, meanwhile, has been linked with a host of potential top jobs, including Tuchel's old club Chelsea and rivals Tottenham.
