Thomas Tuchel to receive ‘extra two years’ on Chelsea deal as Boehly backs boss

Chelsea have reportedly entered talks with manager Thomas Tuchel over extending his contract by an extra two years.

Tuchel's current deal sees him tied to Stamford Bridge until the summer of 2024. But new owner Todd Boehly is said to be keen to double that length to make him stay until 2026.

According to The Sun, negotiations have begun between the two parties. Since Boehly's arrival in west London, he and Tuchel have struck up a strong relationship.

Together they have worked to sign Raheem Sterling, Kalidou Koulibaly and Marc Cucurella as the club look to rebuild following some high-profile exits. And their £100m-plus summer spending is only set to continue.

Barcelona pair Frenkie de Jong and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang are both under consideration. Leicester defender Wesley Fofana and Everton forward Anthony Gordon have each been the subject of bids from the Blues too.

The report claims the Chelsea hierarchy have been impressed by Tuchel's commitment to the cause. He stuck by them earlier this year when former owner Roman Abramovich was sanctioned.
