Spotify’s billionaire founder Daniel Ek is reportedly plotting a takeover of Arsenal alongside club legends Thierry Henry, Dennis Bergkamp and Patrick Vieira.
Current Gunners owner Stan Kroenke is under pressure to sell following a huge backlash over the European Super League proposals.
Arsenal fans have protested wanting to see Kroenke leave the club amid the ESL plans and recent struggles on the pitch.
Kroenke’s son Josh, who is an Arsenal director, last week insisted the club is not for sale though Ek is planning on testing that.
The Telegraph report that Ek is working with Henry, Bergkamp and Vieira on a bid to take control at the Emirates.
Henry, Bergkamp and Vieira are all Arsenal legends and were part of the Invincibles side that went 49 games unbeaten in the Premier League.
Ek would provide the majority of financial backing with Forbes saying the Spotify founder is worth £3.4billion.
The Swede confirmed his interest in buying Arsenal last week, posting on Twitter: “As a kid growing up, I’ve cheered for @Arsenal as long as I can remember. If KSE would like to sell Arsenal I'd be happy to throw my hat in the ring.”
While Henry told talkSPORT on Monday morning: “Arsenal fans have said they are not happy and I’m with them.
“I’m happy with the protests, I couldn’t go, but I was happy about them. It’s the fans’ club, if fans want things to happen it’s on you, and they’re not happy about what’s happening and rightly so.
“It would be great, I’d be over the moon if we can win the Europa League, but some stuff is not right at the club right now.”
