Son Heung-min has seemingly taken a dig at Tottenham team-mate Harry Kane by ‘liking’ a social media post which takes aim at the England captain for failing to attend the club’s pre-season training.
Kane was due back at Spurs’ Enfield training centre for regular testing on Monday and was supposed to begin fitness sessions on Tuesday.
He has not been seen at the club’s base all week but will reportedly hold showdown talks with chairman Daniel Levy over his future by the weekend.
Kane was granted an extended holiday after helping England reach the final of Euro 2020 but Spurs are believed to be furious that he has not returned.
The 28-year-old has expressed his desire to leave Spurs in pursuit of silverware, with Manchester City interested in a possible £150million transfer.
A major team honour has alluded Kane throughout his senior career and he believes that a gentleman’s agreement was struck with the club to allow him to exit this summer,
Talks with Levy are likely to involve Kane reiterating his wish to depart. Levy is expected to remain firm in his stance that his prized asset will not be sold.

Supporters have spent all week debating whether the striker is correct to be evading preparations for the 2021-22 season.
And now it seems that one of his colleagues has – possibly inadvertently – joined in the criticism of Kane’s stance, with Son engaging with an Instagram post which mocks his strike partner’s lack of trophies.
A Tottenham fan account posted a half-half picture of Kane next to former Spurs boss Bill Nicholson – the club’s most successful manager in terms of accolades acquired.
The text on the image reads “00 major trophies” underneath Kane, who is displayed walking beyond the Champions League trophy with a runners-up medal wrapped around his neck.
Nicholson – who enjoyed a 36-year-old Spurs career as a player, coach, manager and scout – is accompanied by the text “26 trophies”.

The legendary character is the last Spurs boss to guide them to the league title, having won the First Division in 1960-61.
“A player is never bigger than a club. ‘Harry Kane FC’ has 0 Trophies. Tottenham Hotspur has 26 Trophies,” the post’s caption reads, before referencing news reports which allude to Kane’s failure to attend training.
The post – which appears to have since been deleted – might be alluding to the fact that City boss Pep Guardiola, who is desperate to sign Kane, once referred to Spurs as “the Harry Kane team” in 2017.
“It’s in September, so Chelsea won 15 games in a row last season, were unbeatable and won the league, not easy, but they won it in advance,” Guardiola said of City’s chances early in the 2017-18 campaign, having just thumped Crystal Palace 4-0.

“Of course, this season has a little more problems because they [Chelsea] play every three days, that’s always more complicated for all the teams.
“But we also have United, we saw again the Harry Kane team scores every day two or three goals.”
City went on to win the league that season with a Premier League record-shattering 100 points.
Son could have accidentally ‘liked’ the post or have misinterpreted its criticism of Kane.
Kane might also argue that the post proves his point that he should leave the North Londoners in search of major trophies.
Spurs have not earned silverware since defeating Chelsea in the 2007-08 League Cup final, although have come close on a couple of occasions since.
The Daily Star report that discussions over Kane’s future will take place with Levy later this week, while the Evening Standard claim that the club will hand the forward a hefty fine.
Kane is second on Spurs’ list of all-time top scorers with a remarkable 221 strikes in all competitions since his debut in August 2011.
It would likely take him a couple more years to exceed Jimmy Greaves’ haul of 266.
