Legendary Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson once launched a foul mouthed tirade at winger Lee Sharpe – despite him having just scored the winning goal in a clash against Everton.

Back in 1993, Sharpe and Man United travelled to Goodison Park to face off against the Toffees, in a game they went on to win 1-0 thanks to a stunning strike from the winger. On 53 minutes, Sharpe fired home a sublime volley past Everton keeper Neville Southall which proved to be the difference on the day.

And after scoring the superb strike, Sharpe, rightly went to celebrate in front of the travelling Man United fans, which led to him producing one of his famed celebrations. However, despite bagging his side all three points on the day, the celebration was not appreciated by Fergie, who launched into a foul mouthed rant at Sharpe once they had gotten back onto the team bus.

Speaking on the Undr The Cosh podcast, Sharpe said: "The game was horrible at Everton, it always was at Everton. The balls just ricochetted to me and I've side footed it in the bottom corner right in front of our fans and I've done the sort of stupid shuffle thing.

"Sat on the bus after the game, it's the first week they'd started showing all the goals from the league, straight after the game. So quarter to six, they showed all the goals. So the manager's like, 'right quarter to six, we're on the bus.'

"So he gets on the bus about six o'clock, 15 minutes later and we all give him a round of applause and he's got his scarlet face on. Bits of froth, white knuckles, I'm thinking 'Jesus, we've just won 1-0 at Everton, it's a decent result, he's not happy with someone'.

"And he's stomping up the bus. Comes straight up to me, right in my face and says 'What was all that f***ing carry on after you scored you little f***ing s***. F***ing get your feet on the floor, who do you think you are. F***ing stop that.' And I'm like sliding down my seat.

"I thought I'd just scored the winner and I've been bollocked for the dance after. So that sort of got me a little bit. I thought if you've got a problem with it, pull me in on Monday morning, and say listen, the dancing thing, we need to have a chat about it, rather than straight after."
