“Sickening” Man Utd tribute to Solskjaer is slated after a “wasted three years”
Respects are going to be paid to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer for his tenure at Manchester United as fans are planning to unveil a huge flag on Thursday at Old Trafford – but the move has angered TalkSport presenter Simon Jordan.
According to ESPN, Red Devils supporters will reveal a huge banner dedicated to the Norwegian after he was dismissed from his role earlier this month following a series of poor results.
Even still, supporters will show off the flag at the Stretford End during his former side’s Premier League encounter against Arsenal.
But the decision to pay their respects to Solskjaer has enraged Jordan, who said that the move was ‘sickening’.
The 53-year-old said: “It’s sickening saccharine tosh. It’s sentimentality over fact. You’ve just trod water for three years, three years of your lives you will not get back. Three years where your rivals have risen further and further away.
“No, he’s got his reward. He did his interview, where we all got our handkerchiefs out and were all so pleased that he made so many friends, and he reignited acquaintances. And he’s travelling off somewhere with a big bag of money that you guys have helped pay for.
“So with the best will in the world, Manchester United are a winning football club. The motivation behind Manchester United’s desire is to win and you’ve just had three years of your life taken away from you by somebody who wasn’t fit for purpose.

"So while I’m sure he’s a charming individual and has the best intentions in mind, running around celebrating mediocrity surely shouldn’t be what Man United fans are all about.”
Man United will go to Old Trafford without their newly-appointed manager Ralf Rangnick. The German needs to have clearance for a work permit before he can begin in at the club.
It means Michale Carrick will take charge of his third game as first-team coach. United managed a hard-fought draw last weekend against Chelsea, while an impressive 2-0 win over Villarreal marked the Geordie’s debut.
