Shaw poised for new £190k-a-week contract – while Telles is unhappy at Man Utd
Luke Shaw is in line for a new contract at Manchester United as reward for his superb season.
The United left-back, 25, still has two years left to run on his current deal, which is worth £150,000-a- week.
But after producing his most consistent run of form yet at Old Trafford, Shaw is to be offered terms running till the end of 2025-26, with a weekly pay rise of £40,000 included.
If Shaw agrees to extend his stay it will complete a remarkable turnaround in the United career of the ex-Southampton starlet.
When the Reds bought Alex Telles from Porto last summer, Shaw’s position in the first team seemed under threat.
But it has proved to be the reverse. Shaw has made that wing-back position his own this term, making 40 appearances in all competitions.
The talk now is that Brazilian Telles is unhappy at his lack of action and could be on this way this summer.
Meanwhile Shaw, who joined United for £30m in 2014 at the age of 18, is likely to be lining up for Gareth Southgate’s England at the Euros.
His resurgence for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side led to a recall into the Three Lions squad last month – and only his ninth cap over seven years.
And Shaw previously opened up on how Solskjaer helped him restart his career, saying: “He's helped me a lot on the pitch, but more so he's been one of the biggest influences off the pitch too, with the way he handles players.

“He knows what players need. I had a difficult couple of years before he came in; I think maybe he realised that and knew what I needed.
“He’s really helped me off the pitch. He obviously believes in me, he tells me that. That’s the confidence you need as a player: to have the manager believe in you.”
