Henry doesn’t recognise Arsenal now – but “fans will decide” future of Kroenkes

Thierry Henry cannot hold his personal feelings against the Kroenke hold on Arsenal anymore.

Thousands of fans gathered outside the Emirates in protest on Friday night singing in unison "we want our Arsenal back."

Legendary striker Henry has now joined their cause because even he doesn't recognise the club where he scored 174 goals in 254 appearances.

Along with five other Premier League clubs, supporters were furious to learn that owner Stan Kroenke and Chief Executive Ivan Gazidis had signed the team up for the European Super League before its collapse.

Henry, who guided the Gunners to two Premier League titles, has never joined the argument against the owners until now.

"This club belongs to the fans, I love the club and I will support the club until I die, but I do not recognise my club," he told the Telegraph.

"What happened just now, with them trying to join a league that would have been closed, makes no sense to me.

"They have been running the club like a company, not a football club, and they showed their hand.

"Maybe it’s a lack of understanding of the core football values and maybe the money was too big of a temptation. But whatever it was, they got it wrong."

Kroenke bought majority ownership of the club in 2008 and also controls American Football's Los Angeles Rams and NBA basketball team the Denver Nuggets.

When asked if Kroenke should sell the club, Henry replied that decision is in the hands of fans now after their resounding demonstration.
