Sergio Aguero believes Real Madrid's history in the Champions League will give them the edge over Liverpool on Saturday evening.

Liverpool and Real Madrid both have a storied past in Europe, with the two clubs sharing 19 European Cups between them. But 13 of those belong to Carlo Ancelotti's side, who are looking for their fourth Champions League crown in seven years against the Reds.

The Spanish giants also have the added fillip of having beaten the Premier League giants in the final four years ago. And Manchester City legend Aguero believes that the weight of history, combined with Real's incredible never-say-die attitude, should be enough for the La Liga champions to make it 14 European Cups in Paris.

"I think Real Madrid have more experience overall as a club, but Liverpool have shown up well in the Champions League for the past few years," Stake.com global ambassador Aguero said.

"It will be close, but I think Madrid will be more confident, having played the finals before and turning around tough games in the past. That's the edge I can point towards.

"History and experience does tilt the scales. Madrid proved it, winning their home legs with the Bernabeu being a key factor. But the final is on neutral ground so it may be more balanced."

Real Madrid have won their last seven European Cup or Champions League finals dating back to 1988. Aguero says that will count for plenty when the whistle blows in the Stade de France on Saturday night.

"Real has had many great teams, and this is no different. Beyond the individual performances of each time, the club itself has a weight of its own," he added.

"When players understand that, no matter which team they're playing for, the weight of history becomes more present."
