Sancho would be “completely different player” for Liverpool who suit Man Utd ace
Former Real Madrid defender Jonathan Woodgate believes Jadon Sancho would be a "completely different player" if he joined Manchester United's arch-rivals Liverpool.
Following a £73m move from Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund, expectation was high for Sancho at Old Trafford but the 21-year-old has rarely been afforded a chance by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Despite showing glimpses of his talent, the former Man City winger has failed to hit the ground running on his return to England.
Sancho has found game time hard to come by since his mega-money move to Manchester with his sole 90-minute match coming in the 1-0 defeat to West Ham United in the League Cup.
And former England international Woodgate believes Manchester United's philosophy is to blame for Sancho's slow start.
He said: "Things haven't gone exactly according to plan for Sancho since he signed for Man United this summer, and I put it down to the style of play; it doesn't suit him.
"If United replicated Dortmund's approach then it would be a different ball game altogether, but Man United don't play that way; they don't play the sort of football Sancho is used to.
"Jadon Sancho is an extraordinary talent; if you play to his strengths, then he'll come good. There's no doubt in my mind that he'll come good again.

"Put him in the Liverpool team, and he'd be a completely different player, I'm sure."
It's hard to disagree with Woodgate – the Reds are miles ahead of Man United at the moment and showed their worth in a 5-0 mauling at Old Trafford.
The Red Devils have kept just one clean sheet in their last 13 matches and Solskjaer has abandoned his preferred 4-3-3, switching to a five-man defence to try and rectify their leaky backline.
The change hasn't worked.
More points were dropped in the Champions League versus Atalanta before another derby day defeat, this time against Manchester City.
Woodgate signifies that despite their heavy summer spending spree, there's one key position Solskjaer has failed to address.
He added: "Man United need someone in the middle of the park to control the game; that's what's letting them down at the moment.
"Everything else is in place; they've got some exceptional players across the rest of the pitch, but they're just lacking that character in the middle of the park."
