Roy Keane’s clean shave drops years off pundit with fans gobsmacked at change
Roy Keane left fans gobsmacked by ditching his bushy beard for a clean-shaven look on Euro 2020 duty for ITV.
The Manchester United legend is a regular fixture on ITV for this summer's major tournament, working as a pundit alongside former team-mate Gary Neville, ex-nemesis Patrick Vieira and more.
And on Wednesday he stunned viewers by appearing without his customary beard, instead sporting a new clean look which sparked discussion on social media.
One fan wrote on Twitter: "Does Roy Keane just take his beard off and let it run wild for a couple of weeks every six months or so? Last night he looked like a raggedy old badger, today smoother than Bond.
Another put: "Roy Keane has shaved his beard because he was annoyed you all said he looked handsome".
A third said: "It saddens me when Roy Keane shaves that magnificent beard".
While another commented: "Keane’s shaved his beard off. Huge loss to the tournament."
Keane was on punditry duty for Italy's 3-0 group-stage victory over Switzerland on Wednesday night.

Manuel Locatelli's superb brace and a long-range Ciro Immobile strike secured Azzurri's place in the knockout stages and instilled them as one of the favourites to win the tournament.
However, even Italy's brilliance on the pitch couldn't distract some fans from Keane's lack of facial hair back in the ITV studio.
Kent barbers The Hairy Bear were responsible for chopping it off, telling KentOnline that the former Sunderland and Ipswich manager visited their store on Wednesday for a quick trim.
The barbers' co-owner Donda Michaelas said: “He had the Hairy Bear special and left a nice tip.
“I think he was happy and we’ll see how his face looks on TV tonight.
