Roy Keane has been involved in another debate in the TV studio, this time clashing with fellow pundit Ian Wright.

The two got into a debate over how important the friendship of England stars Declan Rice and Mason Mount is.

The duo are starting for the Three Lions in their second Euro 2020 clash against Scotland having been close friends for years.

They had been team-mates at Chelsea before Rice was released by the Blues, and now stars for West Ham.

But they are reunited on England duty with Wright praising the pair for how far they have come together.

The ex-Arsenal striker said: “I think you can’t underestimate the journey they’ve had to get here.”

Though hard man Keane swiftly hit back, saying: “This is top level sport, I don’t know why you’re worried about friendships, this is top level sport.”

Though Wright was enjoying seeing the pair reach their dreams, adding: “It’s the story. They must have been dreaming about that, we’ve seen the pictures of them.

"Now they’re here in arguably the biggest game of their lives up to this point. They’re together as two mates, hopefully they can get it over the line.”

Kalvin Phillips joins the two in midfield at Wembley with Mount previously opening up on his friendship.

He said: "It's weird because we're just boys, we've grown up together.

"We've both been on our different journeys and now [we're] coming back together, playing against each other and playing with each other. It's mad."

On their first meeting, he added: "When the new person comes in you want to make them feel welcome and I probably did that.

"We hit it off straight away. I was travelling up from Portsmouth. My family still are down there.

"We used to come up every day, my mum and dad used to take me, and then go all the way back."
