Searches for Cristiano Ronaldo’s iconic jersey at Manchester United have risen by over 3000 per cent since he sealed his return to the club, new research shows.
Ronaldo, 12 years on after he left Old Trafford for Real Madrid, agreed to a sensational second spell at United this summer, having decided to quit Juventus.
And after the move played out dramatically over the space of just a few hours, supporters unsurprisingly scrabbled to pick up a replica shirt of their own.

His No 7 tops have been a staple at United games already this season, and the demand for more still exists, according to 888 Sport.
Their research reveals that, over the space of a year, fans have been more determined than ever to buy a shirt with Ronaldo’s name and number on the back.
The report, via The Sun, says: ‘Ronaldo’s move to Manchester Utd was huge – but not as huge as the demand for his No 7 jersey.

‘In fact, searches for “Ronaldo Man United shirt” since September 2020 have increased 3,173 per cent, with “Ronaldo shirt” surging 408 per cent.’
After the switch, fans flooded online, with the record for the highest daily sale on a single sports merchandise side outside North America smashed.
Fanatics, United’s official retail partner, laid bare the extent of the figures, and the first hour alone bettered the best full day of global sales for the club’s online store.

It was not only over the internet that Ronaldo’s shirt was in demand, with the store at the ground mobbed by people queuing up to get their hands on his number.
With four goals to his name already for United this season, the superstar has enjoyed a superb start to his homecoming on an individual level.
His strikes have arrived against Newcastle, in the defeat by Young Boys and the pulsating victory at West Ham earlier this month.
